Questions
What clients ask us
Can a foreigner buy property in Dubai?
Yes, in the designated freehold areas, which is most of what the market talks about. Outside them, ownership is leasehold or reserved for UAE and GCC nationals.
Does buying property give me a residence visa?
It can. Property above a set value qualifies for an investor visa, and a higher threshold reaches the ten year golden visa. The property has to be completed and held in your name.
Should the property be in my name or the company name?
It depends on why you are buying. Company ownership can help with succession and with holding several units. Private ownership is simpler and opens the property visa. We look at it together with the tax side.
What are service charges?
An annual fee per square foot, paid to the owners association of the building for maintenance and shared facilities. They vary a lot between towers, and they decide whether a yield is what it looks like.
