Questions
What clients ask us
How much is corporate tax in the UAE?
Nine percent on taxable profit above AED 375,000, for financial years starting on or after 1 June 2023. Below that threshold the rate is zero. Qualifying free zone income can be taxed at zero, but the conditions are strict and worth checking properly.
When do I have to register for VAT?
Registration is mandatory once your taxable supplies pass AED 375,000 over twelve months, and voluntary from AED 187,500. Some activities are zero rated or exempt, so the answer is not only about the number.
Does a free zone company pay corporate tax?
It has to register either way. A qualifying free zone person can pay zero percent on qualifying income, but the test is on what you actually do and who you invoice, not on your address.
What happens if I file late?
The Federal Tax Authority issues fixed penalties, and they add up quickly. We track your deadlines so the question stays hypothetical.
